Iouri or Ipod as his friends like to call him was born in Moskow/Russia and moved to Switzerland together with his parents when he was 8 years. He started snowboarding at the age of 12 and things went rather fast from then on. At the age of 14 he placed 3rd in the Swiss Junior Champs and from that time on Ipod has been on a roll. After the 2006 Torino Olympics where he competed in the HP for Russia he switched his nationality to Switzerland. Besides snowboarding, he is an extremely talented skateboarder and has a really smooth and technical style both on concrete and snow.
